Health E-File Investigation Requires Auditor General Audit, Say New Democrats
B.C.’s Auditor General should conduct an independent external investigation into allegations of financial wrongdoing involving a former senior bureaucrat in the ministry of health, say New Democrats.
NDP Opposition Health Critic Adrian Dix sent an official request today to B.C.’s Auditor General, asking the office to step in and conduct an audit in the overall public interest.
“When there are any questions relating to the security of intimate, personal health information, the public expects and deserves openness, accountability and transparency from government,” said Dix.

Coincidentally, the letter was sent on the same day that news was breaking of more lost personal health files.
