James Vows To Continue the Fight To Abandon HST
VICTORIA – New Democrat leader Carole James resolved to continue to push the B.C. Liberals to abandon the HST, despite their claims it’s a done deal.

“Last week, the B.C. Liberals cut off debate and forced through legislation to implement the HST. Now they are telling the public it’s a done deal,” said James. “The fact is that they can listen to the hundreds of thousands of British Columbians who have said No to the HST - and they can still back down before it’s fully implemented.”
James said that the British Columbians are angry and frustrated with the B.C. Liberals because they feel they were lied to about the HST.
“The B.C. Liberals misled voters during the election, and now by refusing to listen to the public, they are thumbing their nose at them,” said James. “As public anger mounts, they are feeling the pressure and lashing out, but British Columbians aren't buying their frantic excuses.”
“The fight against the HST continues and is gathering force,” James said. “The government should listen to the will of the people and stop the HST.”
