Raise the wage!
B.C.’s minimum wage earners haven’t had a raise in more than six years. Meanwhile, costs faced by British Columbians continue to climb.
The Gordon Campbell government has abandoned average British Columbians. Their policies have led this province to its shameful status of having the highest child poverty rates and the largest gap between the rich and poor in Canada. Their refusal to raise the minimum wage is one more example of their uncaring attitude toward average British Columbians.
Carole James and the New Democrat Opposition believe it’s time to raise the minimum wage to $10/hour and then index it to the cost of living.
You can help. Read the press release and backgrounder. Watch the video. Download the flyer. Sign the petition. Support Carole James as she stands up for average families.
It’s about the basics.
