VICTORIA— The Campbell government needs to take immediate action on funding access to insulin pumps for children with type 1 diabetes, NDP health critic Adrian Dix said today.
“Diabetes is a growing and expensive health care challenge,” said Dix, the MLA for Vancouver-Kingsway. “Insulin pumps have become widely recognized as an important treatment option for successfully managing the disease, especially for children.”

“Because of the Campbell government, Vernon Jubilee has set a new record – the most code purples ever recorded at a B.C. hospital in a year. And we are only half-way through the year,” said James.
“The people of Surrey need health care, not broken promises,” said James. “The original completion date was for 2009. Now the project won’t be completed until 2011. In fact, they haven’t even begun construction.
