VICTORIA -- The Campbell government refused to answer tough questions posed by North Island MLA Claire Trevena in the Legislature on Tuesday afternoon about the role of a top Liberal insider in arranging the energy purchase agreement for Plutonic Power’s project on the Toba Inlet.

VICTORIA— North Island MLA Claire Trevena says a report issued by the Outdoor Recreation Council is yet more proof that the Campbell government is sacrificing the environment and the public interest in its quest to privatize our rivers.

“This report is further proof that the Campbell government’s privatization agenda is a Claire Trevenahuge environmental threat to our rivers,” said Trevena.

VICTORIA— Yesterday during question period North Island MLA Claire Trevena demanded answers from Gordon Campbell about what he has done to address the appalling housing conditions facing many of the people who live on the Tsulquate Reserve.

PORT HARDY- North Island MLA Claire Trevena is drawing national attention to housing conditions on the Tsulquate reserve in Port Hardy.

VICTORIA— The dire housing situation being faced by First Nations families on a reserve near Port Hardy has led to three New Democrat MLA’s writing an open letter to the ministers responsible, calling on them to act on the premier’s Throne Speech commitment to “Jordan’s Principle.”

“The Campbell Liberal government has utterly failed these families,” said Trevena, “It’s hypocritical of the minister to refer Jordan’s Principle while pointing his finger at the federal government.”

New Democrats are honouring the 79th anniversary of the Persons Case, which removed a crucial barrier for Canadian women in politics.
