Simons Writes to Premier Regarding Liberal MLA's Comments

VICTORIA -- Following comments made by a B.C. Liberal MLA during a meeting of the Select Standing Committee of Children and Youth, New Democrat MLA Nicholas Simons has written to the Premier asking for MLA Dennis MacKay to be replaced on the committee. 

Simons noted that the comments made by the B.C. Liberal MLA reflect a degree of ignorance regarding the systemic nature of abuse suffered by First Nations people in the residential school system.
