This morning at the Surrey Central SkyTrain station, she collected signatures from transit users on a petition that calls on the Campbell government to take action to reduce transit fares.

Surrey - Green Timbers NDP MLA Sue Hammell said she was shocked to hear reports that a mental health patient who committed suicide after being released from Surrey Memorial Hospital’s psychiatric ward had been released because there was not enough space in the ward to continue to keep him.
Hammell Announces Bursaries for Local Students
Surrey Green Timbers New Democrat MLA Sue Hammell announced today that she will make her first contribution from her MLA pay increase to support the advanced education of two graduating secondary students in her riding.
“The individual B.C. Liberal MLAs could have defeated the pay bill last week but they refused to do so. Clearly, they were more interested in fattening their own pockets than being on the right side of the issue,” said Hammell.
"Dix has provided measured and effective criticism of the Christy Clark government and he's done it without displaying the qualities that B.C. Liberals were sure would keep him from resonating with the voters."
