Statement from B.C. New Democrat leader Adrian Dix on Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Gurpurab
VANCOUVER –B.C. New Democrat leader Adrian Dix issued the following statement today to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev Ji, founder of the Sikh faith.
“The New Democrat caucus joins thousands of British Columbians today in honouring Guru Nanak’s Gurpurab. Our province is a beneficiary of his teachings emphasizing community service, selflessness, and our common humanity.
"By practicing these values in all corners of our province, the Sikh community has helped make B.C. a more inclusive province, committed to ensuring the welfare of all its citizens.
“It is also a testament to Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s legacy that followers of many religions are taking part in events marking the anniversary of his birth across our province.
“On behalf of New Democrats, I wish British Columbians a joyous Gurpurab.”
