Leonard Krog was re-elected as the MLA for Nanaimo on May 12, 2009.

In his role as critic for the Attorney General, Leonard holds the government to account over a number of issues, including the controversial sell-off of B.C. Rail.

Born in Nanaimo and raised in Coombs, Leonard is strongly rooted in his community. Whether it’s homelessness or healthcare, Leonard works hard to bring forth the local issues that impact his constituents and fights for their rights in the Legislature.

Having served as the director and president of the Mid-Island Consumer Services Co-operative, chair of the United Way for Nanaimo and on numerous other community organizations, Leonard has always shown an unwavering commitment to his community.

An avid and eclectic reader, Leonard enjoys reading everything from history and biography to environmental literature. His favourite novelists include Margaret Atwood, Charles Dickens and Margaret Drabble.

A practicing lawyer in Nanaimo since 1980, Leonard works with his wife Sharon who is also a lawyer.

Leonard and Sharon have two children, Jessica and Parker, and enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren, Portia and Archer.
